ANCHORAGE, Alaska — This coming weekend will be the last of season before the Anchorage Market and Festival wraps up for the year. This year was the 19th season for the market with hundreds of vendors that filled the booths downtown.
In 2010, the Anchorage Market and Festival saw more than 600,000 people.
The market manager, James Brown, said this year is better than last, with an increase in vendors and lots more to satisfy a craving.
“This season has been excellent. Sales has been up for most of the vendors, tourism has been up for the last few years and weather has been a little bit better than last year,” said Brown.
One vendor said she's been at the market for 18 years and said her handmade flutes continue to be a hit.
