Throughout the off-season, the Alaska Aces have been busy re-signing members of their 2010-11 Kelly Cup championship roster. On Tuesday, they snagged one of the best players from the previous season's Aces team.
Anchorage-native Nick Mazzolini is returning to Alaska one season after suiting up for the Bolzano HC club in Italy. Mazzolini led the Aces in scoring during the 2009-10 campaign with 27 goals and 37 assists in 63 regular season games.
Also on Tuesday, the defending ECHL champions announced the return of forward Tyler Ruegsegger. After being acquired in a mid-season trade with the Utah Grizzlies, Ruegsegger contributed 15 points in 23 games with Alaska, and then added four goals and four assists in Alaska's playoff run.
The Aces opening training camp this Friday, and then welcome the Colorado Eagles for a pair of exhibitions on Tuesday and Wednesday Oct. 4th and 5th.
