ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Number one, that’s where the preseason GNAC coaches poll has the UAA Men’s basketball team ranked. It was by no means a runaway, the Seawolves receiving one more point than Seattle Pacific University. Both clubs earned 4 out of the 10 first place votes while Western Washington was awarded the other two.
The Seawolves finished second in the GNAC a season ago with an overall record of 24-10 and a trip to the second round of the Division II NCAA tournament. First Team All-GNAC center Taylor Rohde and honorable mention All-GNAC guard Mario Gill return as starters from last year’s team. Coach Rusty Osborne will pull from his bench and deep recruiting class to help fill the other three starting rolls. That recruiting class includes Marcus Jackson, a 6’2” point guard that transferred from Division I Arizona State to UAA this past fall.
