Vehicle Crashes into Four-plex

October 26, 2011|By Christine Kim and Abby Hancock | Channel 2 News

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage Police said a Subaru slammed into an East Anchorage apartment building around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

It happened at the 5400 block of East 38th Court, off of Lynn Drive, about a block west of Boniface Parkway.

Initial reports from the scene indicate an elderly woman crashed into a four-plex. Anchorage Police said she was parked on a hill on the street, and was trying to put her car in reverse when the car didn't shift. Police said her vehicle rolled forward and hit the parked cars in front of her. The Subaru then veered to the right, drove over the lawn, and crashed into the four-plex.

The front end of the Subaru ended up in the living room of an apartment. Police said there were residents inside, but they were in another room and were uninjured.
