Anchorage Dentists Buy Halloween Candy

November 01, 2011|By Rebecca Palsha | Channel 2 News

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Halloween candy from trick-or-treating Monday night was in high demand by local dentists Tuesday.

The dentists were offering $1 a pound for unopened candy, then donating the candy to Operation Gratitude, which sends it overseas to troops.

Dental offices buying Halloween candy in Anchorage include South Anchorage Dental Center, Dr. Devin Johnson Orthodontics and Dr. Julie Veerman.

All three offices are accepting candy until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

“Not only do you get the candy out of the house but it also goes for a good cause,” Dr. Devin Johnson said, “so it’s kind of a win-win situation for both the troops and the kids.”
