South, Dimond To Meet In 4A Volleyball Final

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The state championship volleyball contests will be re-matches of last year.

In 3A, Mt. Edgecumbe overcame a poor start to knock out Dillingham in four games, 12-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-10.  The Braves, who lost the 2010 title match to Grace Christian, will get another shot at the Grizzlies.  Grace took down Valdez in four games, 25-21, 25-17, 25-27, 25-17. 

At the 4A level, undefeated South and three-time defending state champion Dimond will reprise their 2010 final.  The Wolverines blew past Palmer 25-14, 25-9, 25-13.  The Lynx swept West Valley 25-20, 25-20, 25-18. 

The 3A title match gets underway at 5:30 Saturday, while the 4A championship follows at 8:00.  All the action takes place at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Arena in Wasilla.
