ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage's Bean's Cafe is seeking food donations for its Thanksgiving meal. Over 100 community volunteers expect to serve around 1,500 needy people at the annual event.
"They are able to come in, we don't turn anyway away," Bean's Café Manager Michael Bailey said. "They come in and have a warm place to stay once they have their meal."
Bean's is looking for ham, cream pies, sweet potatoes or yams, large cans of green beans, cream of chicken soup, Stove Top stuffing, cranberry sauce, fresh fruit, salad dressing and coffee. Bean's does not need any donations of turkeys -- the shelter has already received 100.
The dinner is from 12p.m. To 3 p.m. On Thanksgiving Day, Thurs. Nov. 24th.
