ANCHORAGE, Alaska — For the first time in the Tim Moser era, the UAA women's basketball team has gone winless in a Great Alaska Shootout.
The Seawolves fell to Central Michigan, 90-84 in overtime of Thursday's tournament consolation game at Sullivan Arena. Kaylie Robison scored 22 points and Hanna Johansson added 20 for the Seawolves, who were outscored by the Chippewas, 17-11 in OT.
UAA held a three point lead late in regulation, but Central Michigan's Brandie Baker tied the game at 73 on a three-pointer with 17 seconds remaining. UAA failed to score on its final possession. The Chippewas placed five players in double figures.
In the championship game, Miami defeated South Florida, 92-72. South Anchorage High School graduate Sylvia Bullock scored 10 points for the 9th-ranked Hurricanes.
