ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Mitch Bruijsten notched a hat trick as the UAA hockey team exploded for a 6-3 win at sixth-ranked Colorado College on Friday night in Colorado Springs. The Seawolves improve to 3-9-1 in the WCHA while the Tigers drop to 6-5-0.
Down 2-0 early in the second period, Bruijsten got the Seawolves turned around with a shorthanded goal. Special teams were the major factor of the game, as UAA went 4 for 11 on the power play. Freshman Austin Coldwell scored his first career goal to give the Seawolves their first lead at 4-3.
Curtis Leinweber enjoyed another big game, with a goal and two assists. Brad Gorham also scored his first goal of the season. Saturday's series finale will be UAA's final game before semester break.
