Army Soldier from Alaska Killed in JBLM Helicopters Crash

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Army officer from Alaska has died with 3 other Army aviators at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in the helicopters crash on Monday, according to JBLM.

32-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Three Joseph S. Satterfield served in the Army since 1997 and was stationed at JBLM in 2009.

The crash occured Monday evening after 8 p.m. It happened inside the southwest training area at JBLM, in Thurston County and involved two OH-58 Kiowa observation helicopters during a rountine training flight.
