Kenai Television Signal Down

December 18, 2011|By Tim Akimoff | Channel 2 News

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A reoccurring problem with the microwave site at Glen Alps caused by continual windstorms and drifting snow is keeping Kenai Peninsula residents from being able to see the Anchorage television signals.

Chugach Power has been notified, and the Anchorage Broadcast Television Consortium will attempt to get a generator to the site as soon as it is safe to do so. The generator will serve to get the system active again until shore power is restored.

Signals for KAKM Channel 7 and KYUR Channel 13 also are affected by this power outage.
