APD: Anchorage Pedestrian Critically Injured in Vehicle Crash

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Anchorage pedestrian is listed in critical condition on Thursday after a vehicle crashed into him, according to Anchorage Police.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of 6th Avenue and Muldoon Road.

Police said 21-year-old Nadaris Whitted was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck and hit 33-year-old Benjamin Raley.

According to witnesses, Whitted was travelling north on Muldoon Road, when he entered a yellow light approaching 6th Avenue, while Raley stepped onto Muldoon Road against the cross walk.

Raley was broadsided by the truck as it tried to slow, and he suffered a head injury.

APD said the driver showed no signs of impairment and no citations were issued.
