Two Alaskans Grab Medals At Nordic Skiing Nationals

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — David Norris of Fairbanks and Anchorage's Eric Packer finished second and third, respectively, in the men's 30K race at the U.S. National Cross Country Skiing Championships in Rumford, Maine.  Overall, five Alaskan men finished in the top 11, including two-time Olympian Lars Flora of Anchorage in fourth. 

Norris attends Montata State while Packer skis for Dartmouth. 

In the women's 20K race, Alaska was also well represented with six finishers in the top 12.  Kate Fitzgerald, who trains with APU, led the charge with a fifth place finish, her third top five result of the national championships.  Amy glen, Caitlin Patterson, and Jaime Bronga, all of Anchorage, claimed top 10 finishes.
