ANCHORAGE, Alaska — There are no big changes to report. Very cold and clear conditions will prevail nearly statewide.
A warming trend is underway along the Arctic coast. Clouds associated with a storm system over the Arctic Ocean will sag southward into the northern half of Alaska today and tomorrow and bring a chance of light snow with them. Temperatures will warm above zero in Barrow later today and warm some 10 to 20 degrees over the Interior tomorrow.
Breezy to windy conditions will remain through gaps or channeled terrain of the southern coastline, including the northern Panhandle and PWS regions. Gusts may approach 45 mph in the Copper River Delta and the Mat Su.
Bands of snow that have persisted all week over the northern Gulf began to stream toward Kodiak yesterday. Snow is still falling today. 1 to 3 inches are likely. Pockets of snow are possible into the Alaska Peninsula, also.
