COOPER CENTER, Alaska — A dead body was found in Copper Center after Alaska State Troopers and the GlennRich Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sunday morning, according to troopers.
AST said the fire happened around 10:11 a.m. on Sunday at mile 93.7 on the Richardson Hwy.
Crews were able to extinguish the flames, but the cabin was completely burned to the ground.
The deceased body was not identified due to the severity of the fire, and the remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy and identification.
Troopers said the cabin owner and sole resident Harlan A. Parker, 71, was last seen on Jan. 28.
