ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Sasha King scored 12 points and controlled the floor by dishing out eight assists as the 12th ranked UAA women's basketball team destroyed Western Washington, 72-50 in a battle between the top two teams in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
The Seawolves led early, 17-2 and never looked back as they improve to a league-best 12 and 2 in conference play, and 21 and 4 overall. The Vikings fall into a tie for second, at 9 and 4 in the GNAC. UAA can assure itself a first regular season GNAC title with victories in its next two games.
Alysa Horn led UAA with 15 points, Hanna Johansson added 14 and a full-court defense for much of the first half forced Western Washington into 15 turnovers by the break.
