Sports Reporter/Photographer/Fill-in Anchor

KTUU, Alaska’s #1 news source, is looking for an enthusiastic, well-rounded sports reporter to complete our sports team.
Even though Anchorage is market 148, KTUU has the look and feel of a top-50 market.
If you love the outdoors, we have a weekly fishing report that runs from late May through September.
Anchorage is home to outstanding college sports. The local university competes in Division II in basketball, volleyball and track, and competes in Division I in hockey.
Anchorage’s minor league hockey team is also the reigning league champion and poised for another deep playoff run.
We cover high school sports thoroughly as well, in particular….football, hockey, and basketball. And there is no beating Alaska’s outdoor sports. We cover the Iditarod from point to point, and several other major events across the state via satellite.

We are looking for a candidate with at least a few years of on-air experience.
On-air duties include fill-in anchoring, and developing & producing packages on a regular basis. Off-air duties include shooting and editing.

Requirements for this position:

    •    Strong television and web writing skills
    •    Strong news judgment
    •    Experience shooting and editing sports video
    •    Experience in the digital world
    •    Current driver license with a clean driving record
    •    Valid passport (or must apply for one within 30 days of hire)
    •    Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
