Rhonda McBride has been with KTUU since September, 1999, with one year off to serve as Rural Advisor in Governor Sarah Palin’s administration. But her love of storytelling brought her back to Channel 2 and journalism. Rhonda has won several national awards for her coverage of Rural issues.
She gained her expertise at KYUK, a public radio and television station in Bethel, where she served as news director for 10 years in a bilingual newsroom, which featured broadcasts in both Yup’ik and English. Rhonda has also hosted political debates and public affairs programs at KAKM-TV, Channel 7. She is also an ethics fellow at the Poynter Institute.
