ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Anchorage Police Department says homicide detectives have taken over the case of missing Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Senior Airman Clinton Reeves, 24, who was last seen leaving his duty station on April 19 and last heard from April 22.
APD spokesperson Lt. Dave Parker says Reeves’ rental car, a red 2012 Dodge Avenger containing his personal effects and paperwork as well as food and beverages, was found unlocked and abandoned on the 300 block of McCarrey Street in Mountain View.
Parker says the vehicle was located April 23, but wasn’t associated with Reeves’ case until April 27 because it wasn’t registered to him or mentioned in the missing-persons report.
Reeves' mother said she was told by her son's friends that he was going to buy a Chevy Tahoe that he found on classifieds website Craigslist.
"He may have hooked up with the wrong people on Craigslist -- that's all I can think of right now," said Judy Davis. “I don’t know.”
Anyone with information on Reeves or his rental car should call APD at 786-8900.
