Governor Announces Summer Picnic Dates

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Governor wants to spend some time with you this summer. Today he announced the dates for the Governor's Family Picnics.

The annual picnics have been held each year for more than a decade. The picnics are made possible by generous donations from Alaska businesses and hundreds of volunteers.
 
Starting this year, other Alaska communities were given the opportunity to host a picnic with Governor Parnell. Glennallen was selected as this year's location.

Here are the dates and times for Governor's Family Picnics.

 

Glennallen

Where: Glennallen School District

When: Friday, July 20, 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.


Fairbanks

Where: Pioneer Park near Airport Way and Peger Road

When: Sunday, July 22, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.

 
Juneau

Where: Sandy Beach Shelters

When: Friday, July 27, 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.

 
Mat-Su

Where: Alaska State Fairgrounds, Raven Hall

When: Friday, August 10, 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.


Anchorage

Where: Delaney Park Strip

When: Saturday, August 11, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
