Fairbanks Police Investigating Woman's Death

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Fairbanks police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near the Richardson Highway Wednesday evening.

According to a statement Thursday from the Fairbanks Police Department, the location of the body, near the Richardson in the Badger Road area, was reported in a call to police just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The body, described as white, just under 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds, has been flown to Anchorage for an autopsy.

Fairbanks police are asking for aid in identifying the woman, and ask anyone with information to call Detective Merideth at 907-450-6553 or Lieutenant Welborn at 907-450-6566.
