ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Spring cleaning started Saturday in Anchorage. The Anchorage Chamber's Citywide Clean-Up Week kicked off with Super Sweeper Saturday.
Students from more than 80 schools in the district spent the day picking up trash around their schools and neighborhoods.
The Super Sweeper program kicks off the start of clean-up week, which draws hundreds of volunteers.
"Our community gets pretty gross over the years and I think it just makes it look a lot nicer when people are out here picking up stuff and putting it away, so all you see is the green," said Dimond High School sophomore Mackenzie French.
