ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Senior Airman Clinton Reeves’ family, friends, and Air Force colleagues paid tribute to the slain 24 year old during a memorial service, Monday.
The ceremony was not open to the public or the news media, but video provided by Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson shows a packed chapel where everyone gathered to honor Reeves.
“He took pride in his job, he was even selected to fuel Air Force One and you all know what it takes to be selected,” Judy Davis, Reeves mother, told the audience.
The Air Force presented Davis and Terry Reeves, Clinton’s father, with Airman Reeves’ dog tags.
Reeves was posthumously awarded an Air Force Commendation Medal for distinguished service as a fuel specialist. The Air Force says it recognizes that during his time in Alaska, Reeves was an exemplary airman.
Reeves’ body was discovered last week in a ditch high above Eagle River. He had been missing for weeks. Police believe he is the victim of a homicide.
