ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Barrow man is facing attempted-murder charges after allegedly firing a shotgun at a pickup truck Sunday morning, according to North Slope Borough police.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots near Egasak Street in Barrow shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
“Preliminary investigation revealed Barrow resident Akugaq Ben Asisaun Leavitt, age 28, had discharged at least one round from a 20 gauge shotgun striking a pickup truck occupied by three Barrow residents, none of whom were reported to have been injured,” officers wrote in a statement on the case Monday.
Leavitt has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder. He is being held without bail at the North Slope Borough Correctional Center.
