ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage and Southcentral residents were shook with an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6, according to the United States Geological Survey.
USGS had a preliminary magnitude at 4.7 and minutes later the magnitude was listed at 4.8 when the quake occurred around 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday about 8 miles southwest of Anchorage.
The Alaska Earthquake Information Center said the quake's depth was listed at 37 miles.
The National Ocenic and Atmospheric Adminstration center said a tsunami will not be generated.
