ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska-Canada Highway remained closed Monday afternoon in Canada’s Yukon Territory after a series of weekend landslides and washouts caused by heavy snowmelt, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
CBC North said the slides, first reported Saturday, had closed a 100-mile stretch of the highway from Watson Lake to Teslin, forcing drivers to take numerous detours north and south of the affected area.
There was no word Monday on when the highway might reopen.
