ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A free summer-solstice tour of the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, featuring presentations on 10 pioneers who helped shape the city’s history, is slated to begin Thursday evening.

“Anchorage’s Original Town Site Settlers” is free to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. Visitors should meet hosts Audrey and Bruce Kelly at the Bagoy Gate of the park, at 7th Avenue and Cordova Street.

The late John Bagoy initiated annual tours of the cemetery, which is owned by the Municipality of Anchorage and operated by its Department of Health and Human Services, in 1996.
