ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police say 70-year-old Isaac Juneby, of Eagle, was killed in a three-vehicle crash in South Anchorage late Sunday night.
Police said Juneby was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on Lake Otis Parkway and drove through a solid red light for reasons unknown as he approached O’Malley Road.
"We're in the process of speaking with two of the drivers but it sounds as though there was a red light violation that occurred which then resulted in the collision, but we're still trying to sort out which vehicle was travelling which way," said Sgt. Gerard Asselin.
In news release Monday morning, police said a Ford Expedition traveling westbound on O'Malley Road t-boned the Ford Taurus and the force of the crash caused the vehicles to strike a third vehicle, a Ford Explorer, traveling eastbound.
There were no passengers in any of the three vehicles involved and police say the two other drivers went on their own to area hospitals for treatment. Police closed the intersection for a few hours during its initial investigation.
