Gerald Coleman made 29 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Alaska Aces remained unbeaten on their eight-game road trip with a 2-0 win over the Bakersfield Condors.  Alaska improves to 5-0-2 on its trip with one game left. Wes Goldie and Tyler Ruegsegger each scored their seventh goals of the season for the Aces, who own a league-high 30 points and a mark of 14-4-2.

Bobby Hughes tallied the winning goal and scored for the second straight game as the Alaska Aces held off the Bakersfield Condors, 2-1 on Friday night to move to 4 and 1 with one game left on their six-game road trip.  Overall, Alaska stands 14-5-0 on the season and has lost only once in its last 11 games. Gerald Coleman made 20 saves on 21 shots while Joey Crabb also scored for the aces, his ninth goal of the season.

Gerald Coleman stopped all 23 Las Vegas Wranglers shots in his return after missing two weeks with an injury as the Aces shut out the Wranglers, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.  The result comes one day after Las Vegas broke Alaska's 12-game unbeaten streak. Sean Curry scored the Aces only goal, a 4 on 4 marker in the second period, his fifth of the season.  The Aces improve to an ECHL-best 40-12-6 overall.

Gerald Coleman stopped all 20 Bakersfield Condors shots for his second shutout in as many Sundays as the Alaska Aces rolled to a 3-0 victory over the Condors to finish off a three game series sweep.  The Aces pad their ECHL-best record to 43-12-6.  Following a scoreless first period, Alexandre Imbeault tallied his 16th goal of the year at 11:42 of the second period.  Alex Hudson and Spencer Bennett added third period goals 69 seconds apart....

Wes Goldie stayed hot for Alaska Aces, scoring his fourth goal in two games to help the Aces to a 3-1 victory over the Stockton Thunder.  Goldie has 15 tallies for the season, and the Aces are now 14-9-1 overall. Scott Howes gave Alaska an early 1-0 lead, but  the Thunder tied the contest by the end of the first period. Alaska broke through in the second, taking the lead on Alex Dzieski's second goal of  the season. Goldie then extended the lead to 3-1 with a 5-on-3 goal in the second.

Wes Goldie scored for the fourth straight game and Gerald Coleman made 33 saves as the Alaska Aces fended off the Ontario Reign, 3-1 in a series opener Friday night at Sullivan Arena.  The Aces improve to an ECHL-best 19-4-2 overall, and remain unbeaten in their last 13 games. Following a scoreless first period, Alaska struck on two second period power plays.  Steve Ward buried his third goal of the season at 6:10 and Garry Nunn tallied his eighth about 11 minutes later to make it 2-0 after two periods.  With Ontario down only 2-1, Goldie closed the scoring with his 12th of the year at the 10:42 mark of period three.

The Alaska Aces won for the sixth straight time at home and improved to an ECHL-best 25-5-5 on the season with a methodical 3-1 victory over the Utah Grizzlies on Friday night.  The Aces scored the first three goals, receiving scoring from Brandon Gentile, Tyler Ruegsegger, and Jacques Lamoureux in the victory.  Lamoureux was playing his first game since December 18th and notched his second of the season. Gerald Coleman, back in the lineup after missing six games with an injury, stopped  20 of 21 shots to collect the win in net. The Aces improve to 6-2-1 against the Grizzlies this season.  Saturday's series finale will also be their final head to head meeting of the year.

Scott Campbell scored his sixth and seventh goals of the playoffs, and former UAA Seawolf Josh Lunden struck 1:28 into regulation as the Las Vegas Wranglers evened the ECHL's Western Conference Finals against the Alaska Aces with a 3-0 win on Friday night in Las Vegas.  The series is tied 1-1, with game three in Anchorage on Sunday night. Joe Fallon stopped all 23 Aces shots and received all the goal scoring he needed in the opening period.  Following Lunden's goal early on, Campbell buried his first of two goals only 1:36 later to make it 2-0.  Campbell's second goal came with only 42 seconds left in the first.

Chris D'Alvise scored the game winning goal on a power play 9:19 into overtime to give the Stockton Thunder a 3-2 win over the Alaska Aces in game two of the ECHL's Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday at Sullivan Arena.  The best of seven series is tied at one game apiece, with game three Wednesday in Stockton. Alaska never trailed in regulation, thanks to goals by Brandon Gentile and Nick Mazzolini in a span of 51 seconds in the second period.  The Thunder rallied to tie the game by period's end, setting the stage for D'Alvise's game winner.

With ECHL goaltender of the year Gerald Coleman on an AHL promotion, Adam Courchaine will be carrying the load in net for the Aces.  Seems he's up to the task. Courchaine stopped all 29 shots for his second shutout of the season, and the Aces defeated the Stockton Thunder, 3-0 on Thursday to remain unbeaten in their last 11 games.  Courchaine has lost only once in 14 starts this season.  Jordan Kremyr, Nick Mazzolini, and Steve Ward all scored for the Aces, who started the game with only 14 healthy skaters, two short of the ECHL maximum.  That was before captain Brian Swanson left the ice early on with an injury.

The Alaska Aces went three for five on the power play and tallied five unanswered goals to knock off the Utah Grizzlies, 5-4 on Friday night.  Nick Mazzolini led the Aces with his team-leading 16th and 17th goals of the season, while Garry Nunn notched a goal and two assists and Joey Crabb tallied three assists. Alaska improves to 19-8-0 overall.  The scoring almost wasn't enough as Utah mounted a comeback from 5-1 down in the second period to make things close in the third period.  Gerald Coleman made 13 of his 35 saves in the final 20 minutes to preserve the win.

Former Aces Kory Falite and Mark Isherwood combined for three points as the Utah Grizzlies snapped the Aces run of six consecutive wins and eight straight at home with a 4-1 victory Friday night at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska drops to 17-6-0 overall and still leads the ECHL in points, while Utah gets to .500 at 9-9-2. Falite dished two assists, including a key play on Isherwood's second period goal that restored Utah's two-goal lead only 30 seconds after the Aces' Matt Robinson scored to make the score 2-1.    Gerald Coleman took his first loss of the season for Alaska.  The teams continue their four game series on Saturday night.

Joey Crabb, William Wrenn, Scott Gomez, and Nick Mazzolini tallied goals for the Aces in Wednesday night's 4-2 series opening win over the Utah Grizzlies.   The win is the 6th straight overall and 12th in the last 13 games for the Aces, who own the ECHL's best winning percentage with a mark of 17-5-0. Alaska and Utah will see each other a total of six times in the next two weeks.  On Wednesday, the Grizzlies were denied by Gerald Coleman's 24 saves.  Coleman made his first home start of the season after making his 2012-13 debut during Alaska's road trip.

Gerald Coleman, the 2011 ECHL Goaltender of the Year, made 29 saves in his return from off-season hip surgery as the Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies, 5-1 on Friday night.  Alaska scored the final five goals after allowing the opening tally in the first period. Joey Crabb scored twice, including a shorthanded goal, while Nick Mazzolini's team-leading 10th of the season stood as the game winning goal.  Zach Harrison notched his third of the season and Sean Curry struck for the first time as an Ace. The Aces improve to 12-5-0 overall with four games left on their six-game road trip.

The Alaska Aces now have 16 players under contract for the upcoming season.  Today the club announced the signing of rookie forward Jarred Smith out of Brown University and acquired the rights to defenseman Craig Syvret in a trade with the Trenton Titans.  Alaska received Syvret for future considerations. Syvret is a third year defenseman who furnished four goals and six assists last season in 59 games.  He also spent three games at the AHL level.  Syvret was a teammate of Gerald Coleman in junior hockey.

The Alaska Aces signed two more players this week as the team continues to build it's roster for the upcoming 2012-2013 season.  The glacier blue signed forward Bobby Hughes and goalie James Reid Thursday.  This will be the first stint with the team for Hughes who is entering his sixth pro season at the young age of 24.  Most recently the forward played in Germany where he scored 6 goals, added 9 assists, for 15 points in a short 10 game regular...
