Board members with Girdwood Health Clinic, Inc. are concerned the non-profit may be forced to move out of its building if they can't come to a lease agreement with the building's owners. If that happens it would leave Girdwood without a health clinic. Turnagain Arm Health Clinic owns the building and has rented the facility to Girdwood Clinic since 2005. Girdwood Clinic was sold and became Girdwood Health Clinic Inc., then, in Dec. 2011 it became a non-profit facility.

Without offering details, Judge Emmet Sullivan said it was to accommodate a juror. Former VECO Corporation CEO Bill Allen spent the morning talking about how he enjoyed helping the senator, and how -- when needed -- he didn't hesitate to seek the kind of help that only the senator could provide. But Stevens asked to be billed for work done to expand his Girdwood home more than once.

The Girdwood Health Clinic has spent the fall and winter months working on a lease deal. The Girdwood Health Clinic Incorporated or GHCI has been working with the current landlord of the building. The building is owned by the nonprofit the Turnagain Arm Health Center, Incorporated. GHCI has requested TAHCI to apply for a non-profit property tax exemption in the hopes that the savings can be passed onto GHCI so the rent is lowered. The lease officially ended in August and GHCI has been paying rent on a month to month basis.
