The Alaska Aces have erased the memory of an eight-game winless streak on the road, a skid that stretched into February. Alaska won its fourth straight game away from home and moved into the lead in the ECHL Mountain Division with a 5-2 victory over the Idaho Steelheads. Wes Goldie scored his league-leading 30th goal of the season and tallied three assists, while fellow veteran Brian Swanson added two goals and one helper. With the win, Alaska improves to 30-19-2 overall, and its 62 points are enough to pass Utah for first place.

The Alaska Aces welcomed the Idaho Steelheads into the not-so-friendly confines of Sullivan Arena Friday night, as both sides put points on the board in short order. In the third period, the game was tied at 2 and looking destined for overtime with 1:23 left to play, when Scot Burt scored his second goal of both the game and the year. The Aces appeared poised to skate off with the win, but with 28 seconds left on the clock Idaho’s Mark Derlago shocked Aces fans by equalizing the scoreboard at 3-all.
