Cpl. Ryan D. Collins, 20, was killed on May 19, 2007 by enemy small-arms fire in Baghdad, Iraq.                                                   Collins, a native of Vernon, Texas, served with the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Richardson.

Sgt. Kurtis Dean Kama-O-Apelila Arcala, a 22-year-old Palmer native, was killed on Sept. 11, 2005, by a roadside bomb in Balad, Iraq. Arcala served as a tank crew member with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division.

Lance Cpl. Grant Fraser, a 22-year-old Anchorage native, was killed on Aug. 3, 2005, by a roadside bomb in Anbar province, Iraq. Fraser served with the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division based at Elmendorf Air Force Base.

Staff Sgt. Carletta Davis, a native of Anchorage, died Nov. 5, 2007 when a roadside bomb detonated near her armored vehicle outside of Tal Al-Dahab, Iraq, according to military reports. Davis was a combat medic assigned to the 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), based at Fort Drum, N.Y. The 34-year-old mother of three graduated from East High School in 1991. She was in the midst of her third tour of duty in Iraq and had been awarded the Purple Heart once before.

Spc. Dustin James Harris, 21, was killed April 6, 2006. Harris was on foot patrol in Beiji, Iraq, about 150 miles north of Baghdad, when an improvised explosive device detonated nearby.                                                                                   Harris, a native of Patten, Me., served as a motor transport operator assigned to the 172nd Brigade Support Battalion, 172nd Stryker Brigade based at Fort Wainwright.

Tech. Sgt. Jason L. Norton, 32, was killed on Jan. 22, 2006 when his armored Humvee hit a roadside bomb near Taji, 18 miles north of Baghdad, Iraq. Norton, a native of Miami, Okla., served as a patrol and k-9 officer with the 3rd Security Forces Squadron based at Elmendorf Air Force Base.

Fisher, a native of Santee, Calif., was a flight engineer who served with the 1 st Battalion, 52 nd Aviation Regiment, Task Force 49 based at Fort Wainwright.

Spc. Steven R. Jewell, 26, was killed Aug. 14, 2007. Jewell was on board a CH-47 Chinook helicopter that crashed during a routine post-maintenance test flight near Anbar province, Iraq. Jewell, a native of Bridgeton, N.C., was a CH-47 repairman who served with the 1 st Battalion, 52 nd Aviation Regiment, Task Force 49 based at Fort Wainwright.

Davis, 22, was killed on May 21, 2007, when several roadside bombs exploded near his vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq.                                            Davis, a native of San Marcos, Texas, served as a combat engineer with Alpha Company, 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Richardson.
