Severe winds strong enough they flipped planes in Anchorage. At Campbell Lake a float plane turned over and was pulled into the middle of the lake during the storm. Neighbors say they say people in kayaks out anchoring the plane so it wouldn't float further away. At the lake Hood Airstrip another plane flipped. A pilot there tells KTUU this accident could've been worse had the plane toppled on top of another plane. There was no plane in the parking space next to the flipped one.

Forecasting the weather in Alaska can be exciting and challenging. Channel 2 News is looking for a Meteorologist who wants to join our top-rated News Department and accepts the challenges inherent to an overnight/early morning shift (3a-11a). During Alaska's summer months, your “overnight” shift will be awash in daylight, but in the winter months, you may rarely see the sun… so we're looking for someone who brings a ray of light to KTUU's “Morning Edition” no matter the weather conditions.
