Gerald Coleman continued to dazzle for the Alaska Aces Friday night, picking up 31 saves as the Las Vegas Wranglers were dealt a 3-0 shutout in the Aces’ first road game of the season. Rookies Chris Langkow and Jared Stewart both drew blood for the second game in a row, with Chad Anderson sinking an additional puck. The win brings the Aces’ record for the season to 4 and 1. The Alaska Aces beat the Las Vegas Wranglers at the Sullivan Arena, for the second straight night. Coming off Friday's shootout win, the Aces scored early and often, winning 5-1. First goal came on a pass from Wes Goldie to David Shields in the first period.  Aces' Tyler Ruegsegger would strike in the same frame, giving Alaska to 2-0 lead. The boys would let in a single goal from the Wranglers before scoring 3 in the second period. The Aces host Idaho at home in a 3 game series, starting October 20th at 7pm.

Former UAA forward Josh Lunden scored the go-ahead goal at 6:13 of the third period to lift the Las Vegas Wranglers to victory over the Alaska Aces, 2-1 on Friday night.  The win enables the Wranglers to pull within eight points of the Aces for the most points in the ECHL.  Las Vegas improves to 29-14-4, while Alaska drops to 32-10-6. Jordan Kremyr scored for the third straight game for the Aces and owns 13 goals for the season.  Adam Courchaine stopped 21 of 23 shots.

Gerald Coleman stopped all 23 Las Vegas Wranglers shots in his return after missing two weeks with an injury as the Aces shut out the Wranglers, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.  The result comes one day after Las Vegas broke Alaska's 12-game unbeaten streak. Sean Curry scored the Aces only goal, a 4 on 4 marker in the second period, his fifth of the season.  The Aces improve to an ECHL-best 40-12-6 overall.

With locked out NHL players Brandon Dubinsky and Joey Crabb playing a role, the Alaska Aces skated away with a 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Wranglers in the first of two ECHL exhibition games Monday night at Sullivan Arena. Dubinsky contributed an assist, defenseman Danny Markowitz furnished one goal and one assist, while Matt Robinson and Tommy Mele each scored as the Aces received 26 saves from Mark Guggenberger to knock off last season's Western Conference champions. Nate Thompson, another Alaskan NHL player who is playing for the Aces during the league's work stoppage, will play in Tuesday's exhibition.

Dan Kissel scored for the fourth straight game, while Kory Falite and Chris Langkow continued their strong play as the Alaska Aces took down the Las Vegas Wranglers, 4-3, in the opener of a huge three game series Thursday night at Sullivan Arena. Alaska now stands at 32-19-2 overall, one point behind the Wranglers for the top spot in the ECHL's Western Conference. Langkow assisted on Alaska's first two goals of the night, and buried a power-play strike in the second period to give the Aces a 3-1 lead.

The Alaska Aces won for the first game in five games, and more importantly, extended their lead for the ECHL's best overall record to 10 points with a clutch 4-2 victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers on Thursday.  The win gives the Aces a record of 32-9-6, tops in the ECHL.  The Wranglers drop to 28-14-4, still good for the second most points in the league. Ethan Cox, Zach Harrison, Jordan Kremyr, and Dan Kissel all scored goals for the Aces.  Kremyr's 12th of the season broke a 2-2 tie at the 9:34 mark of the third period and gave him a third period goal in back to back games.

Reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Year Gerald Coleman stopped 25 shots, and rookie Chris Bruton scored the Aces only goal of regulation as the 2011 Kelly Cup champions opened their title defense with a 2-1 shootout win over the Las Vegas Wranglers at Sullivan Arena.  Wes Goldie and Dan Kissel buried shootout goals and Coleman set aside four of five Wranglers attempts in the shootout.   Bruton got the scoring underway with a power play strike at 17:58 of the first period.  Bryan Miller and Steve Ward assisted on the goal.  Scott Campbell scored off an Aces turnover to evening things up in the second.  Opening night also featured the unveiling of the Aces 2010-11 Kelly Cup championship banner.  The players will receive their championship rings prior to Saturday's rematch.

The Alaska Aces fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers 2-1 in a shootout Saturday evening. Alaska was first on the board when Wes Goldie found the back of the net at 10:24 in the first. After a scoreless second period, former Seawolf Sean Wiles put Las Vegas on the board with the equalizer.  The Aces were unable to answer, sending the game into overtime. Las Vegas' Barry Goers gave the Wranglers the advantage in the shootout, and Alaska was unable to come back. The two teams are at it again in the final game of the series Sunday, February 26, at the Sullivan Arena.

Ethan Cox scored two of the Aces four goals and James Reid made 24 saves for his first pro victory as the Alaska Aces started a three-game road trip with a 4-2 win over the Stockton Thunder. Wes Goldie added his team-leading 31st goal, while Blair Yaworski tallied three assists for the ECHL leaders.  Alaska improves to 37-14-8 this season, and stays five points ahead of the Las Vegas Wranglers for the most in the league.  The 21-year old Reid, signed last week, played one game in net last weekend, a shootout loss to Las Vegas.

The Alaska Aces continue to benefit from the NHL lockout, signing local product Brandon Dubinsky to a professional tryout agreement.  Dubinsky becomes the fourth locked out Anchorage native to join the Aces in some capacity during camp.  Nate Thompson, Joey Crabb, and Scott Gomez have done the same in the last week. Dubinsky had spent his entire NHL career with the New York Rangers until being traded to Columbus in the off-season.  The 26 year old owns career totals of 81 goals and 132 assists in 393 career games.

The 1993-94 Toledo Storm will remain the most recent team to win back-to-back ECHL championships. The defending Kelly Cup champion Alaska Aces are on the brink of elimination after falling, 3-2 to the Las Vegas Wranglers in game four of the ECHL's Western Conference Finals.  Alaska trails the series, three games to one and faces a must-win in Wednesday's game five. For the third straight game, the Aces allowed an early first period goal.  Judd Blackwater gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead just 1:49 into the opening period.  Eric Lampe, who scored the overtime goal in Sunday's win, also struck in the first to make it 2-0 after one period.

Scott Campbell scored his sixth and seventh goals of the playoffs, and former UAA Seawolf Josh Lunden struck 1:28 into regulation as the Las Vegas Wranglers evened the ECHL's Western Conference Finals against the Alaska Aces with a 3-0 win on Friday night in Las Vegas.  The series is tied 1-1, with game three in Anchorage on Sunday night. Joe Fallon stopped all 23 Aces shots and received all the goal scoring he needed in the opening period.  Following Lunden's goal early on, Campbell buried his first of two goals only 1:36 later to make it 2-0.  Campbell's second goal came with only 42 seconds left in the first.

Ryan Cruthers scored both Aces goals, including the game-winner on a deflection with 4:06 remaining in regulation to lift Alaska to a 2-1 victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers in game one of the ECHL's Western Conference Finals.  Cruthers, acquired late in the season for forward Ethan Cox, now has four goals in six playoff games. Alaska controled play in a scoreless first period, outshooting Las Vegas, 17-6.  Cruthers opened the scoring on a power play with a tremendous slap shot at 9:07 of the second period.  The Wranglers answered quickly, getting the tying goal from Scott Campbell with 2:31 to go in the frame.  The teams stayed tied until Cruthers tipped in Tyson Marsh's shot late in the third.
