Southcentral Alaska has seen clear and cold conditions this week, which are producing higher visibility but lower temperatures and snowfall at the region's ski areas. Alyeska Resort said it was looking forward to excellent night skiing after a clear day in its ski report Friday. Night skiing until 9 p.m. is open Thursday through Saturday and continues through Mar. 24. •    Temperatures of -2, 5 and 10 degrees were reported at the base, middle and top of the mountain, which had 46, 83 and 112 inches of snow respectively.

Southcentral Alaska is enjoying warmer weather this week, but temperatures have been fluctuating headed into the weekend -- which means conditions could blow hot and cold at the region's ski areas. Alyeska Resort said it had good weather in its ski report Friday, with mostly clear skies and warming temperatures. Night skiing until 9 p.m. is open Thursday through Saturday and continues through Mar. 24. Temperatures of 21, 25 and 20 degrees were reported at the base, middle and top of the mountain, which had 65, 135 and 182 inches of snow respectively.
