The Alaska Aces defeated the Stockton Thunder 4-3 Wednesday night at the Sullivan Arena in a shootout. Alaska struck first at 9:03 into the game when Alexandre Imbeault netted one off the pass from Cory Syvret. Stockton answered shortly after, with a power play goal from Yannick Riendeau. Joey Crabb would retaliate, giving Alaska a 2-1 lead at intermission. Mike Little equalized midway through the second, but a goal from Kane Lafranchise put Aces back on top 3-2. In the final period of play, the Thunder's Justin Maylan would find the back of the net, sending the game into overtime.

Brandon Dubinsky scored his fifth goal in the last three games and Mark Guggenberger made 16 saves as the Alaska Aces finished off a series sweep of the San Francisco Bulls, 3-2 on Sunday at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska improves to 5 and 2 overall. Zach Harrison and William Wrenn also struck for the Aces, who jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the second period before hanging on for the victory. The Aces are off until next Saturday, when they visit the Stockton Thunder.

Wes Goldie stayed hot for Alaska Aces, scoring his fourth goal in two games to help the Aces to a 3-1 victory over the Stockton Thunder.  Goldie has 15 tallies for the season, and the Aces are now 14-9-1 overall. Scott Howes gave Alaska an early 1-0 lead, but  the Thunder tied the contest by the end of the first period. Alaska broke through in the second, taking the lead on Alex Dzieski's second goal of  the season. Goldie then extended the lead to 3-1 with a 5-on-3 goal in the second.

Wes Goldie reached the 40-goal plateau for the fifth consecutive year, helping the Alaska Aces win, for the ninth time in the last 10 games, 3-2 over the Las Vegas Wranglers Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. The victory gives the Aces a nine point lead over the Stockton Thunder in the race for the best record in the ECHL Western Conference with six games to go. Alaska won for the fourth straight time in Las Vegas despite never being granted a power play the entire game. Curtis Fraser and Russ Sinkewich also tallied goals for the Aces, who improve to 42-21-3 on the season.

Adam Courchaine finally got the help he needed to collect his first win in three starts for the Alaska Aces this season.  The second year goaltender wasn't too bad, either. Courchaine made 41 saves to lead Alaska to a 4-1 victory over the Stockton Thunder on Wednesday night.  The win gives the Aces a 3-0-1 start to their eight-game road trip. Alaska received goals from Jordan Kremyr, Wes Goldie, Dan Kissel, and Chris Bruton in the victory.  Kremyer's was the first of his pro career, while Goldie and Kissel have now scored in back to back games.  Kissel leads the team with 10 goals.

Ethan Cox scored two of the Aces four goals and James Reid made 24 saves for his first pro victory as the Alaska Aces started a three-game road trip with a 4-2 win over the Stockton Thunder. Wes Goldie added his team-leading 31st goal, while Blair Yaworski tallied three assists for the ECHL leaders.  Alaska improves to 37-14-8 this season, and stays five points ahead of the Las Vegas Wranglers for the most in the league.  The 21-year old Reid, signed last week, played one game in net last weekend, a shootout loss to Las Vegas.

Chris D'Alvise scored the game winning goal on a power play 9:19 into overtime to give the Stockton Thunder a 3-2 win over the Alaska Aces in game two of the ECHL's Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday at Sullivan Arena.  The best of seven series is tied at one game apiece, with game three Wednesday in Stockton. Alaska never trailed in regulation, thanks to goals by Brandon Gentile and Nick Mazzolini in a span of 51 seconds in the second period.  The Thunder rallied to tie the game by period's end, setting the stage for D'Alvise's game winner.

With ECHL goaltender of the year Gerald Coleman on an AHL promotion, Adam Courchaine will be carrying the load in net for the Aces.  Seems he's up to the task. Courchaine stopped all 29 shots for his second shutout of the season, and the Aces defeated the Stockton Thunder, 3-0 on Thursday to remain unbeaten in their last 11 games.  Courchaine has lost only once in 14 starts this season.  Jordan Kremyr, Nick Mazzolini, and Steve Ward all scored for the Aces, who started the game with only 14 healthy skaters, two short of the ECHL maximum.  That was before captain Brian Swanson left the ice early on with an injury.

The Aces received even strength goals from five different players in a series opening 5-2 win over the Stockton Thunder in the ECHL's Western Conference Semifinals.  The Aces take a one game to none series lead, with game two of the best of seven series Saturday night at Sullivan Arena. Zach Harrison, who scored the game's first goal at 10:07 of the opening period, led the Alaska attack with a goal and two assists, while Garry Nunn added a pair of helpers.  Alexandre Imbeault, Alex Hudson, B.J. Crum and Evan Trupp all scored as well.

Despite controlling play and outshooting the opposition by 13, the Alaska Aces fell victim to a hard-luck shootout loss on Sunday, falling to the Stockton Thunder, 4-3.  Alaska's lead over Las Vegas for the ECHL's best record grows to four points as the Aces are now 37-15-9.  The Wranglers were idle on Sunday. Shane Owen, just acquired on Saturday in a trade with the Florida Everblades, stopped 21 shots in his Aces debut.  Blair Yaworski, Brian Swanson, and Nick Mazzolini all scored for the Aces in regulation.  However, following a scoreless overtime period, Alaska shooters were blanked in the shootout.  The Aces have seven shootout losses, tied for the most in the league.

The Stockton Thunder ended the Alaska Aces season with a 4-3 overtime victory in Tuesday's Game Six of the ECHL's Western Conference Semifinals.  Stockton's Nik Pokulok scored the game winning goal 7:13 into sudden death after the Thunder's Andrew Clark tied things up with only five seconds left in regulation.  Alaska loses the series, four games to two and will have to call it a year after leading the ECHL with 49 wins during the regular...

Red-hot Bobby Hughes registered a hat trick for the Aces, but it wasn't enough as the Stockton Thunder scored four third period goals of a 5-3 win over Alaska in game two of the ECHL's Western Conference Semifinals.  Stockton's win evens the best of seven series at one game apiece. Incredibly, the loss marked Alaska's first regulation defeat when leading after two periods since the beginning of the 2010-11 season.  The Aces were previously 116-0-7 in such circumstances, regular season and postseason combined.

Oh what a night for Alexandre Imbeault, the Aces forward carded a natural hat trick on Sunday, accounting for all of the Aces goals in their 3-1 victory over the Stockton Thunder.  Alaska swept the series winning three games in three nights against the California based team.  For Imbeault the scoring outburst accounted for his 12th, 13th, and 14th goals of the year.  After the game the man with three horn sounders gave some of the credit to...

Dan Kissel scored a pair of goals and tacked on an assist in a three point night as the Alaska Aces topped the Stockton Thunder 4-1. The Aces needed just five games to advance to the Conference Finals where they await the winner of the Wranglers and Steelheads. Dan Kissel provided the ice breaking goal at 11:13 of the first period to give Alaska a 1-0 advantage.  Two minutes later Steve Ward added a tally of his own which made the score 2-0. In the second period Jessie Fratkin would breath life into the Thunder cutting the Alaska lead in half with a horn sounding effort at the 3:14 mark of the frame.

Nick Mazzolini delivered a highlight-reel assist on the tying goal and added an empty net goal in the final seconds to help the Alaska Aces to a 4-2 win over the Stockton Thunder in game four of the Western Conference Semifinals on Friday.  the victory gives Alaska a three games to one lead and can clinch the series Saturday in Stockton. Tyson Marsh scored his second career playoff goal and Steve Ward buried the game winner at 14:08 of the third period.  But with Alaska trailing 2-1 in the second period, Mazzolini turned in the play of the game when he swung behind the net as though he were about to attempt a wrap-around shot.  Instead, he passed the puck in front of the net to a wide-open Ryan Cruthers, who tied the game, 2-2. Gerald Coleman was again sharp in net, turning away 19 of 21 Thunder shots.  Stockton has managed only six goals in the first four games of the series.
