by Lori Tipton Tuesday, June 8, 2010 ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Municipality of Anchorage is being accused of shutting out a trade show and playing favorites to the Alaska Aces. The city signed an "exclusive agreement" with the hockey team and the owner of the Alaska Women's Spring Trade Show says it's forcing him to re-schedule the event. Last season, trade shows scheduled during April prevented the Aces from hosting playoff games on home ice. For almost 20 years, the Alaska Women's Show has been held at the Sullivan Arena in April.

Despite their status as top seed, the Alaska Aces will open the ECHL's Western Conference Finals against the Las Vegas Wranglers as the road team.  Game seven of the series, if necessary, will also be held in Las Vegas because of scheduling conflicts in both home arenas, the series will have an unusual 2-4-1 format. Alaska, by virtue of having the best regular season record in the ECHL, will still enjoy the maximum number of four home dates compared to three for Las Vegas.  Western Conference Finals: #1 Alaska vs. #3 Las Vegas (All Times AKT)
