The Alaska Aces scored four first period goals, two by former Bakersfield Condor Alex Hudson, in a 5-1 series opening win over the Condors on Thursday night at Sullivan Arena.  Hudson was acquired by Alaska in a trade in January and now has eight goals on the season. Sean Curry tallied for the second straight game, while Alexandre Imbeault struck for the 15th time this season in only the Aces and Condors second meeting of the season.  Alaska improves to an ECHL-best 41-12-6, while Bakersfield remains in the ECHL Western Conference basement, at 18-37-5.

The visiting San Francisco Bulls outshot the Aces 16-5 in the third period and tallied three goals in the final frame of a 5-2 road win over Alaska on Friday at Sullivan Arena.  The win marks the Bulls first win over the Aces in four meetings all-time. Zach Harrison and Chris Clackson each scored their 11th goals of the season for Alaska, which falls to 31-11-2 overall.  The Aces are 17-5-0 at home.  Dean Ouellet scored twice for San Francisco, while Jordan Clendenning buried the game-winner at 9:56 of the third period.

The Aces closed 2012 as the hottest team in the ECHL, not to mention the best overall.  Nick Mazzolini scored his ECHL-leading 20th goal of the season, and Alaska outshot Colorado 13-3 in a dominating opening period in a 4-2 win over the Eagles on New Year's Eve at Sullivan Arena.  The Aces improve to 26-8-0 overall with its season-high eighth consecutive win. The Alaska Aces defeated the Colorado eagles for a second straight night with a 5-0 shutout on Saturday at the Sullivan Arena. After a scoreless first period, Alaska came out firing in the second.  Chris Clackson netting a goal just 31 seconds into the frame, Zach Harrison and Brad Gorham credited with the assists.  Two minutes later, Nick Mazzolini delivered a 5-hole goal off the pass from Garry Nunn, putting Alaska in a comfortable lead.  Goals...

The Alaska Aces extended their winning streak to 6 games, with their 4-1 victory over the Colorado Eagles Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. After a scoreless first period Sean Curry broke the ice, finding the back of the net off the pass from Joey Crabb. Colorado would equalize in the third, but Zach Harrison fired back less than two minutes later with the game winner.  Goals from Bobby Hughes and Chris Clackson would round out the 4-1 final. The two teams are back in action Satuday night, 7pm at the Sullivan Arena.

The Alaska Aces completed their 3game series sweep over Stockton, defeating theThunder 4-1 Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena. A fight ensued at puck drop between Aces' William Wrenn and Teigan Zahn.  It was a brief altercation, as Wrenn dropped Zahn with the first punch. Later in the period, Joey Crabb was the first to find the back of the net at 16:36 in the first off the pass from Matt Robinson.   Two fights came immediately after the goal, resulting in penalties for Dustin Molle, Chris Clackson, and two Stockton players.

Grant Rollheiser made 14 of his 28 saves in the third period to lead the Utah Grizzlies to a 2-1 victory over the Aces on Monday night at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska drops to 18-7-0 overall and loses for only the third time at home all season.  All three defeats have come against Utah. Joey Crabb scored his 12th goal of the season for the Aces, a strike at 14:11 of the third period to draw Alaska within a goal.  Mark Guggenberger saved 26 shots for the Aces.  Alaska travels to Idaho on Wednesday before visiting Utah for two more games Friday and Saturday.

The Alaska aces defeated the Colorado eagles 4-3 Saturday night at the Sullivan arena, making for a clean sweep of the 3 game series. In the first period, Joey Crabb lit the lamp off a pass from Garry Nunn at 2:55, and was the only goal of the period. Nate Thompson would score next, at 5:31 in the second, followed quickly by another Alaska goal from Scott Gomez.  Also scoring in the period was Nick Mazzolini and Colorado's Dylan Hood to make it 4-1 at second intermission.

Scott Gomez wasn't content to merely play his first hockey game in several months or suit up in his first Aces contest since the 2004-05 lockout.  The Anchorage native had an assist and scored the game winning goal in his season debut as the Aces defeated the Colorado Eagles, 4-3 on Wednesday night at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska never led until Gomez scored at 6:29 of the third period to snap a 3-3 tie. Brandon Dubinsky scored his fifth goal in the last three games and Mark Guggenberger made 16 saves as the Alaska Aces finished off a series sweep of the San Francisco Bulls, 3-2 on Sunday at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska improves to 5 and 2 overall. Zach Harrison and William Wrenn also struck for the Aces, who jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the second period before hanging on for the victory. The Aces are off until next Saturday, when they visit the Stockton Thunder.
